Recipe Jar is a Svelte 5 and TypeScript single-page app built with Vite and shipped as an offline PWA using Workbox. Recipes are stored locally in the browser's IndexedDB through Dexie. The only backend is a small Cloudflare Pages Function that proxies recipe-page fetches, so there is no database or app server. Photo import runs on-device with Tesseract.js OCR, and the whole thing deploys to Cloudflare Pages.

I built Recipe Jar after getting tired of recipe apps that hid saving behind a subscription or made me create an account just to keep a link. I wanted something free, private, and mine. So I made a local-first keeper where the recipes live on your own device, and the app costs nothing to run because there is no server holding your data.
