  • Is paid ProtonMail worth it for the average overly paranoid joe?
Otherwise you can encrypt files using some external tools and upload that to any cloud storage. Rclone is a pretty decent solution for that, which supports a lot of cloud storage services and encryption as well. - Source: Reddit / 3 days ago
  • Best options for VM Backup
The free Veeam version is limited by this feature. But you can use other free (or not) tools to extend your backup architecture. For example, Rclone https://rclone.org/ or Starwind VTL https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-virtual-tape-library do some magic and push local backups to the cloud storage like AWS, Azure, Backblaze, Wasabi, and etc. - Source: Reddit / 3 days ago
  • Ask HN: What's your approach to personal data archiving and backups?
For now I just rclone (https://rclone.org/) a few directories to B2 or S3. I created an application key with write only permission to the cloud storage. - Source: Hacker News / 4 days ago
  • A quick write-up of my current setup with a Raspberry Pi 4
I have a weekly backup with rclone, one to the hard drives and one to Backblaze B2. This backs up my home folder, where all the docker stuff is stored. I don't bother with backing up the system, as aside from a few apt packages it's a vanilla OS with some config to do. - Source: Reddit / 4 days ago
  • What is the best way to Sync folders between two device that has termux ?
Best source is the horses mouth; https://rclone.org/. - Source: Reddit / 5 days ago
