Possible disadvantages of Quizizz

  • Limited Question Types
The platform supports limited types of questions compared to other assessment tools, which may restrict the variety of assessments.
  • Distraction Risk
Game-like features, while engaging, can sometimes be distracting for students who may focus more on the game's elements rather than the educational content.
  • Privacy Concerns
As with any online tool, there might be privacy concerns regarding student data, especially in regions with strict data protection laws.
  • Cost for Premium Features
While many features are free, access to advanced tools and analytics requires a paid subscription, which may not be feasible for all educators or schools.

Possible disadvantages of Code Input

  • Limited Feature Set
Compared to more established alternatives like GitHub Gists or Pastebin, Code Input may offer fewer advanced features such as version history, forking, or extensive language support.
  • Low Brand Recognition
As a lesser-known platform, Code Input lacks the widespread adoption and community trust that more established code-sharing tools enjoy, which may deter some users.
  • Uncertain Longevity
Being a smaller, less well-known service, there are concerns about the long-term availability and maintenance of the platform, meaning shared links could potentially break in the future.
  • Limited Collaboration Features
The platform may lack robust collaboration tools such as real-time editing, commenting, or integration with popular development workflows and IDEs.
  • No API or Integration Options
Unlike larger competitors, Code Input may not offer API access or integrations with other developer tools, limiting its usefulness in automated workflows and professional environments.

  • OK, I'm impressed...
Once that's all done, I compile these into a Quizizz quiz, or sometimes a Blooket, and run the quiz. I don't care that eight students have seen the questions and answers, since the purpose is to acquaint and familiarise the students with the material. In fact, I'd be stoked and would have a big reward if everyone got 100%. Source: over 3 years ago
