  • Valkyrie CTF out now! 5592-2164-9849
Imported a model from Quixel Megascans and followed this YouTube guide on how to create multi-layer terrain! You’ll create a custom material and when it comes to the grass creation section you use the static mesh you import from quixel. Definitely took some playing around, so I recommend working on it in a test project. Source: about 1 year ago
  • I worked on this animation for the last few days—still WIP. Constructive criticism is appreciated! Rendered with Cycles.
Most models (axe, trees, and stump) are scans from quixel megascans. I just placed the raw scans into the scene. Then I scatted moss, leaves, and some other foliage on the ground with Scatter 5. I also animated the falling leaves with Scatter 5. I finally filled the background and foreground with plants from the botaniq add-on. Source: over 1 year ago

  • I like DAZ3D but there are absolutely no models or assets for me.
Also, I didn't see it mentioned, but if it's environments that you are mostly after, one possible solution is to use HDRIs for the background. Obviously those are more limiting than a proper 3D environment but might be good if you are just doing static, one-off shots. You can get free ones of those from https://polyhaven.com and https://hdri-haven.com. Source: 11 months ago

  • Reconnaissance Mission
As for rule 2 compliance, you may recall from the last post, I textured the duck with an image from unsplash. I used a terrain texture from polyhaven.com (was texturehaven.com back when I downloaded it.) I honestly cannot remember which tool I got the heightmap from, it was so long ago. But google terrain height map generator or some variant on that, I think there's like openGIS is one of them, and like,... Source: 12 months ago

Huge shoutout to polyhaven.com their Material/Model Collection was a huge timesaver. Source: 12 months ago
  • ALL HAIL KING DUCK
As per rule 2: I used a picture from unsplash to texture the duck. I used wood textures from polyhaven.com for the boat. All the modeling done in blender. Source: 12 months ago
