I'm in no way saying that markdown is perfect but it is much better than anything else I've used. It's got me through both a bachelors and masters. The author of this article appears to be unaware of pandoc, and even better quarto. I do hobby programing. It is sometimes to create something (supposedly) useful. Lately though it is more discovery and a little math like. I enjoy Project Euler (https://projecteuler.net/.
