The website is already built. Each comment will have a reddit post URL, and the bot should leave a comment on that URL. We can use pythonanywhere.com for this to make it easiest. Source: about 3 years ago
If you are learning, use pythonanywhere.com as they specialize in python, and make setup easy. Only $5 a month. Start with a barebones flask app, get it to run, then follow a tutorial. Actually better to build the app locally, easier to test with IDE like Pycharm. Then upload to the net. Source: about 3 years ago
Hello, I have a Minecraft server running on a Rpi with Paper. It works great and I use it to play with some of my friends. However, the server's public IP address often changes, meaning that I have to give my friends the new IP address daily. Being a programmer, I feel this could be automated. I don't want to buy a domain, so I want to try and setup a system where the server sends Its IP to my PythonAnywhere... Source: over 3 years ago
Hosting wise, I would reccomend pythonanywhere.com, combined with either https://imagekit.io or https://cloudinary.com. Source: over 3 years ago
So what is the best alternative? I have one Plotly Dash app on pythonanywhere.com where I spend 6 bucks a month so I don't want to spend anymore than 5 dollars per month on the PHP + MySQL. Source: over 3 years ago
Everyone is commenting on the HN headline, no one on the actual announcement: > Building the New Internet (Insert mandatory reference to Silicon Valley here :)) > We think thereโs a better way forward. We're calling it identity-first networking. I would love to see this. Every day I have to stare at YAML files with IP addresses in them is a day I will never get back. I wish cjdns[0] had succeeded already... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
This sub is not about TOR and all the seediness that goes on there but rather about creating darknets, by which we/they mean mesh networks and encrypted networks using tools like https://github.com/cjdelisle/cjdns/. Source: about 3 years ago
One of my favorite projects in IPv6 space is the CJDNS project: LINK TO GITHUB. Source: over 3 years ago
From a purely networking perspective, there are far better solutions than tailscale. Have a look at full mesh VPNs like: https://github.com/cjdelisle/cjdns https://github.com/yggdrasil-network/yggdrasil-go https://github.com/gsliepen/tinc https://github.com/costela/wesher These build actual mesh networks where every node is equal and can serve as a router for other nodes to resolve difficult network topologies... - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
I'm excited about P2P/decentralized/distributed overlay networks. Still catching up so would be grateful for tips on resources. Pinecone[0][1], newer initiative made by former Yggdrasil[2] maker(s). CJDNS[3]. AIUI CJDNS relies on intermediary high-uptime discoverable router nodes which is what is motivating Pinecone. POKT[4][5] to CJDNS seems like what Filecoin is to IPFS. I'm yet to get around to doing the... - Source: Hacker News / about 4 years ago
