What makes your product unique?

PurpleIPD's answer

PurpleIPD is the only paperless IPD solution built specifically for the Indian hospital context — where NABH accreditation, ABDM compliance, PMJAY documentation, and TPA-heavy insurance workflows create challenges that global EHR products simply aren't designed to solve. Most hospital software digitises records. PurpleIPD enriches them — with geo-tagged clinical photographs, timestamped photo evidence, and video consent recording that give TPA teams verifiable, query-proof documentation. The result is fewer claim rejections, faster pre-approvals, and discharge that happens when it should rather than hours later while paperwork catches up. Unlike generic HMS platforms that require hospitals to change how they work, PurpleIPD configures around your existing paper forms and workflows. Your staff aren't learning a new system — they're doing exactly what they've always done, just on a tablet instead of paper. The parallel editing capability addresses a pain point unique to Indian ward environments — where a single physical file travelling between nurses, doctors, and billing creates cascading delays. With PurpleIPD, every authorised team member works on the same record simultaneously, from anywhere in the hospital. Finally, PurpleIPD is part of the PurpleDocs ecosystem — the only end-to-end platform in India covering historical record digitisation, paperless IPD, OPD management, and a patient-facing app under one roof. Hospitals don't need to stitch together multiple vendors to achieve complete digital records management.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

PurpleIPD's answer

Choosing between paperless IPD solutions comes down to three things: trust, data security, and reliability. On all three, PurpleIPD stands apart from direct competitors like Presco IPD and DigitalIPD. 15 years of healthcare credibility PurpleIPD is backed by PurpleDocs — a name Indian hospitals have trusted since 2010. With 20 million+ patient records digitised across 200+ hospitals in 16 cities, PurpleDocs brings a depth of healthcare domain knowledge that newer entrants simply cannot match. When you implement PurpleIPD, you're not onboarding a startup — you're partnering with a brand that has spent 15 years solving exactly these problems. On-premises data protection — built for DPDP compliance India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act places serious obligations on hospitals handling patient data. PurpleIPD offers on-premises records management, keeping sensitive patient data within your hospital's own infrastructure. Your patient data stays where it belongs — under your control, on your premises, fully protected against DPDP regulatory risk. This is a critical differentiator that cloud-only competitors cannot offer. 99.9% uptime — a flawless service record In a hospital environment, downtime isn't an inconvenience — it disrupts patient care, delays discharge, and stalls insurance submissions. PurpleIPD maintains a 99.9% service record across all deployments, with zero reported instances of data loss or critical system failure. No competitor in this space can point to 15 years of uninterrupted service to Indian hospitals. Richer documentation than any comparable product Where Presco IPD and DigitalIPD digitise records, PurpleIPD enriches them — with geo-tagged clinical photographs, timestamped photo evidence, video consent recording, and one-click insurance pre-approval templates that directly reduce TPA queries and accelerate claim settlements. When the stakes are patient care and hospital revenue, experience, security, and reliability aren't negotiable. PurpleIPD delivers all three.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

PurpleIPD's answer

PurpleIPD's primary audience is hospital owners, trustees, and COOs at Indian hospitals with 30 or more beds — the decision-makers who are directly accountable for operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and financial performance. These are not technology buyers. They are healthcare leaders evaluating whether a solution is trustworthy, proven, and worth the disruption of change. For them, PurpleIPD's 15-year track record under the PurpleDocs brand, flawless service record, and on-premises data protection are as important as the product features themselves. NABH-accredited hospitals form the most immediate segment — where complete IPD documentation, real-time audit trails, compliance indicator flags, and video consent recording directly address accreditation requirements and audit readiness. ABDM-compliant hospitals represent the forward-looking segment — hospital owners and trustees who have already committed to India's national digital health infrastructure and need an IPD solution that integrates seamlessly with ABHA, HCX, and the broader ABDM ecosystem. 30+ bed hospitals broadly are the growth segment — facilities large enough to feel the operational pain of paper-based IPD daily, with enough bed turnover and insurance volume for PurpleIPD's impact on discharge speed, TPA claims, and nursing efficiency to be immediately measurable. Across all three segments, the buying decision is made by the owner or trustee, influenced by the COO or administrator, and validated by the head of nursing or billing — making all three roles critical to address in sales and marketing outreach.

What's the story behind your product?

PurpleIPD's answer

PurpleIPD wasn't born in a boardroom. It was born in a hospital corridor.

When co-founders Deepak and Pooja Gupta watched a family member battle cancer in an Indian hospital, they witnessed something that stayed with them — doctors making clinical decisions without access to the patient's full medical history, critical records lost in piles of paper, and a healthcare system that was working hard but working blind.

Two questions wouldn't leave them alone: Why can't a doctor see a patient's complete history at a click? Why isn't that history being used at the moment it matters most — when a clinical decision is being made?

Deepak had built a career in the United States — an MS in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and nearly a decade in Silicon Valley. Pooja had spent seven years as a software lead at HCL Infosystems, Tieto, and Saama Technologies, with experience spanning enterprise software and cloud infrastructure. Together, they had every reason to stay abroad.

They chose to come home instead.

In 2010, they returned to India and spent months surveying hospitals — understanding not just the technology gap but the human one. They found that existing digital solutions were built for Western healthcare systems, couldn't accommodate Indian hospital workflows, and failed the practical realities of how Indian clinical staff actually worked.

So they built PurpleDocs from scratch — a customisable platform designed around India's healthcare realities, not imported from elsewhere.

Fifteen years later, PurpleDocs has digitised over 20 million patient records across 200+ hospitals in 16 cities. PurpleIPD emerged from that same foundation — taking everything learned from digitising historical records and applying it to live inpatient documentation, insurance workflows, and compliance management.

The problem that started with one family's experience is now being solved for hundreds of thousands of patients across India every year.
