Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Protis.tech and Hypervector.

What makes your product unique?

Protis.tech's answer

Protis is the only prioritisation tool where AI is a first-class participant in your team's decisions โ€” not a chatbot or a summary button, but an active team member.

Three things no competitor offers:

AI Requirement Builder โ€” Describe a rough idea in a chat interface. The AI acts as a senior PM, asks clarifying questions, and generates a complete spec with user stories, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and a quality score (0-100). Every spec is scored for Clarity, Completeness, Testability, and Scope before it enters your backlog.

AI Evaluator โ€” AI joins your evaluation sessions as a scoring member. It scores every issue using your framework (RICE, ICE, WSJF, or custom), explains its reasoning, and produces an alignment report showing where AI and humans diverge โ€” surfacing blind spots your team didn't know existed.

AI Sprint Assistant โ€” Pre-sprint priority briefs, post-reveal divergence analysis, and cross-sprint retrospectives generated automatically.

On top of this, Protis uses a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model โ€” teams connect their own OpenAI or Anthropic API keys, so there are no per-use AI fees from Protis. You get full AI capability without usage-based charges.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Protis.tech's answer

Most prioritisation tools treat AI as an afterthought โ€” a bolt-on summariser or a $20/month add-on. Protis was built AI-native from day one.

vs Ducalis โ€” Ducalis has no AI features. Protis gives you AI scoring, AI specs, and AI sprint planning on top of everything Ducalis does.

vs Productboard โ€” Productboard charges $59/maker/month for the base product, then adds another $20/month for AI features. Protis Pro is $19/member/month with everything included โ€” AI, unlimited boards, all integrations, two-way sync.

vs Airfocus โ€” Airfocus starts at $59/editor with AI only in enterprise plans. Protis includes all AI features in a single Pro tier.

vs Linear โ€” Linear is a project management tool, not a prioritisation platform. Protis integrates with Linear as a tracker but adds structured scoring, collaborative evaluation, and AI decision support on top.

The practical reason to choose Protis: your team will make better prioritisation decisions, and the AI will surface patterns and blind spots that no one on your team has time to see manually.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Protis.tech's answer

Product managers and product leads at B2B SaaS companies, typically at the seed to Series B stage (5โ€“100 people).

More specifically:

Solo PMs and founders who need to bring structure and rigour to prioritisation without a large team

PM leads and Heads of Product who run evaluation sessions with engineering and design and want AI to participate alongside humans

AI-forward operators โ€” product people actively looking to bring AI tools into their workflow to move faster and reduce bias in decision-making

The common thread: teams who take prioritisation seriously, use structured frameworks (RICE, ICE, WSJF), and want AI that actually contributes to decisions rather than just summarising notes.

What's the story behind your product?

Protis.tech's answer

Protis was built to solve a problem every product team faces: prioritisation decisions made on gut feel, incomplete requirements, and misaligned stakeholder opinions โ€” with no structured way to surface blind spots.

The original vision was a collaborative scoring platform where the whole team evaluates together, using frameworks like RICE and ICE, with real-time Scrum Poker and sprint cycles. That core is still the foundation.

What changed the direction was the emergence of capable AI models. Rather than bolting AI on as a feature, we rebuilt the product around a single idea: AI should participate in product decisions the same way a senior team member would โ€” asking the right questions before writing a spec, scoring issues with reasoning, flagging where the team's assumptions might be wrong.

The BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model was a deliberate choice. We didn't want to charge per AI resolution or gate AI behind expensive tiers. Teams bring their own OpenAI or Anthropic keys, pay their provider directly, and get full AI capability from day one on the Pro plan.

Protis is built by a small, focused team and deployed at protis.tech.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Protis.tech's answer

Frontend: React 18, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, Recharts

Backend: Node.js, Express.js, TypeScript

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Protis.tech's answer

Protis launched recently and is in early growth stage โ€” we are not yet disclosing individual customer names.

Early access customers are product teams at seed and Series A SaaS companies

Available at protis.tech with a free tier and Pro plan from $19/member/month
