Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Postica and Cert Decoder.

What's the story behind your product?

Postica's answer

I kept launching projects on Reddit and getting zero traction. As a data scientist, I decided to stop guessing and treat Reddit marketing like an engineering problem. I pulled millions of posts, analyzed the patterns, and built a dashboard to visualize what actually works. It started as a personal tool and turned into a full product when other founders wanted access to the same data.

Cert Decoder's answer:

I built certdecoder.com over the weekend for my own needs. Sometimes in my work, I need to verify and check certificate details.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Cert Decoder's answer:

certdecoder.com was built using just JavaScript and HTML—simple, fast, and with all processing happening locally in your browser, so no certificate data is sent to any server

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Postica's answer

Founders, indie hackers, and marketers who have a product and want to use Reddit to drive signups, traffic, or sales. They know Reddit has potential but feel overwhelmed by the thousands of niche communities, each with different rules, cultures, and peak hours.

Cert Decoder's answer:

certdecoder.com is primarily built for developers, sysadmins, cybersecurity enthusiasts, and DevOps engineers.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Postica's answer

Most Reddit tools focus on monitoring or listening. Postica is built for action. It gives you engagement heatmaps, keyword lift scores, audience overlap for cross-posting, and our generated daily plans that tell you what to do today. It's built specifically for founders and marketers who want to use Reddit as a growth channel but don't know where to start.

Cert Decoder's answer:

Simple, fast, and reliable. Some similar tools can’t even decode basic certificates. I rigorously tested my tool with many real-world certificates and covered several edge cases where competitors fall short.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Postica's answer

  • Indie hackers launching their first product on Reddit
  • SaaS founders looking for organic growth channels
  • Content marketers managing Reddit as part of their distribution strategy
  • Small business owners exploring Reddit for customer acquisition

Cert Decoder's answer:

certdecoder.com is primarily built for developers, sysadmins, cybersecurity enthusiasts, and DevOps engineers.

What makes your product unique?

Postica's answer

Postica is the only Reddit growth tool built on top of a 20+ million post dataset covering 100K+ subreddits. It doesn't just monitor Reddit, it tells you exactly where to post, when to post, and what language to use based on real engagement data. It also generates personalized daily growth plans tailored to your product and experience level.

Why? Because I built certdecoder.com and couldn’t find a decent place to submit it. So I said screw it — I’ll build my own. With blackjack and hookers. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
