As answered by people managing Pixzero by developk and Cert Decoder.
Pixzero by developk's answer
Pixzero started as an image tool site and later added short media tools (video-to-GIF, audio cutting/converting) after users asked for a simple way to handle short clips. It's one of four free tool sites built and maintained by a solo indie developer, alongside developk.kr, FastestPDF, and FastestUnitConverter.
Cert Decoder's answer:
I built certdecoder.com over the weekend for my own needs. Sometimes in my work, I need to verify and check certificate details.
Pixzero by developk's answer
Pixzero is built with Astro, React, and Tailwind CSS — the only one of the four developk sites using this stack (the others are static HTML). Media processing (video-to-GIF, audio tools) runs client-side via a single-threaded ffmpeg.wasm build.
Cert Decoder's answer:
certdecoder.com was built using just JavaScript and HTML—simple, fast, and with all processing happening locally in your browser, so no certificate data is sent to any server
Pixzero by developk's answer
People who need a quick, one-off image edit, removing a background for a profile photo, shrinking a file before uploading it, or turning a short clip into a GIF, without installing desktop software or signing up for an account.
Cert Decoder's answer:
certdecoder.com is primarily built for developers, sysadmins, cybersecurity enthusiasts, and DevOps engineers.
Pixzero by developk's answer
Most free background-removal or compression tools limit resolution, add watermarks, or require sign-up for repeated use. Pixzero has none of that, and because processing happens in the browser, there's no upload wait or privacy concern with the images you're editing.
Cert Decoder's answer:
Simple, fast, and reliable. Some similar tools can’t even decode basic certificates. I rigorously tested my tool with many real-world certificates and covered several edge cases where competitors fall short.
Cert Decoder's answer:

Pixzero by developk's answer
Pixzero bundles 9 free browser-based tools for images and short media clips — background removal, resizing, compression, format conversion, watermarking, video-to-GIF, and audio cutting/converting. Everything runs client-side, so files aren't uploaded to a server.

Why? Because I built certdecoder.com and couldn’t find a decent place to submit it. So I said screw it — I’ll build my own. With blackjack and hookers. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
