Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Pivotdesk and BizToolStack.

What makes your product unique?

BizToolStack's answer:

Every fee and tax rate links to its official source (IRS, SSA, Etsy, Square, PayPal and others) with the date it was last verified, and the site refuses to build if a rate goes unchecked for more than 92 days. All calculations run in your browser with exact decimal math, and nothing you type is sent to a server.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

BizToolStack's answer:

It is free with no signup, and it covers the whole job in one place: set a price, check what Etsy or Stripe will take, estimate the tax on what you keep, then send an invoice. Most fee calculators only cover one platform and do not show where their rates come from.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

BizToolStack's answer:

US freelancers, independent contractors, small business owners and online sellers on Etsy, Poshmark, Mercari and similar marketplaces.

What's the story behind your product?

BizToolStack's answer:

BizToolStack started as a simple markup calculator and grew into a set of tools for the questions small sellers and freelancers ask every week: what will this platform take, what should I charge, and how much should I set aside for taxes.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

BizToolStack's answer:

Astro, React and TypeScript, with big.js for exact decimal math, Valibot for data validation and pdfmake for PDF generation. The site is static and runs on Cloudflare.
