Worklyn is a business and finance workspace for solo professionals and founders.

Manage clients, proposals, contracts, projects, time tracking, invoices, expenses, receipts and bank transactions in one place.

Worklyn connects the work you do with the money behind it. Track project budgets and costs, reconcile bank transactions, match receipts, prepare clean financial records and see the real margin behind every project.

Its AI CFO uses this context to answer questions about cash flow, profitability, spending, overdue invoices and what needs your attention next.

Instead of stitching together a CRM, project manager, invoicing tool and finance dashboard, Worklyn gives you one connected workflow from client โ†’ proposal โ†’ contract โ†’ project โ†’ invoice โ†’ payment โ†’ margin.

Run the work. Mind the money. Know what comes next.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Pilot and Worklyn.

What makes your product unique?

Worklyn's answer:

Worklyn connects client work with the financial side of running a business.

Clients, proposals, contracts, projects, tracked time, invoices, expenses and bank transactions live in the same workspace. That means Worklyn can show not only what you billed, but what a project actually earned after time and costs.

Its AI CFO works on top of that shared context, helping you understand profitability, cash flow, outstanding invoices and what needs attention next.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Worklyn's answer:

Most tools focus on either managing client work or managing business finances. Worklyn is designed to connect the two.

You can move from client โ†’ proposal โ†’ contract โ†’ project โ†’ invoice โ†’ payment without losing the financial context along the way. Project budgets, tracked time, expenses and revenue come together to show the real margin behind your work.

For solo professionals and founders, that means fewer disconnected tools and a clearer picture of both the work being done and the money it creates.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Worklyn's answer:

Worklyn is built for solo professionals and founders who manage both client work and the business behind it.

That includes freelancers, consultants, developers, designers, marketers and other independent professionals, as well as early-stage founders who want projects, invoicing and financial visibility in one place.

It is especially useful when spreadsheets and separate tools start making it difficult to understand what the business is actually earning.

What's the story behind your product?

Worklyn's answer:

Worklyn started from a simple frustration: running a small business meant jumping between separate tools for clients, proposals, contracts, projects, time tracking, invoices and finances.

The individual tools worked, but the context between them was missing. A project could be delivered and invoiced without ever having a clear answer to a basic question: how much did we actually make?

Worklyn was built to connect those pieces in one workspace. Midday later influenced the product's deeper focus on banking, transactions and pre-accounting, turning Worklyn from a client-work tool into a broader business and finance workspace.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Worklyn's answer:

Worklyn is a web application built primarily with Next.js and TypeScript, with PostgreSQL powering its core data layer.

It integrates with services such as Stripe for payments and Plaid and Enable Banking for read-only bank connectivity in supported regions. The product is built around secure, modern web infrastructure with financial data access designed to remain read-only where possible.

Curious to get this groups thoughts on fractional hiring. • Do you believe billionaires are inherently bad, why or why not?
They should use it to create even more net positives for society (Like the founders of Pilot did, see here). Most of them at the moment find that helping other 'potential future billionaires' is a pretty good way of doing this (This is what a VC fund is generally, or Angel investors, very different dynamics to zero-sum investors). But I don't think you'll find any that just sit there with it. Besides - the whole... Source: over 3 years ago
