Pidgin
speedtest-cliPidgin is highly recommended for users who need to manage multiple chat accounts from different platforms within a single app. It is ideal for individuals who appreciate open-source software and the ability to extend functionality through plugins. It's particularly useful for those who prioritize functionality over a modern user interface and are comfortable with making customizations if needed.
Pidgin might be a bit more popular than speedtest-cli. We know about 18 links to it since March 2021 and only 13 links to speedtest-cli. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
I'm going for a classic feel here, so I designed the webmentions (which used to appear in a sidebar or under the post) UI to look like a Pidgin IM session, and the slide decks page looks (kinda) like OOO Impress. - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
When it comes to Right to be Forgotten we only have few places were we have user data as part of us running Pidgin. These are our mailing list archives which have been replaced by Discourse, our issue tracker, and our old developer WIKI. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
I can't think of any way. There is a Facebook plugin for Pidgin, and you can get at your chats that way with a more versatile cross-platform messenger, if you are more normally on other chat services. https://pidgin.im/ https://github.com/dequis/purple-facebook/wiki If you want web-based clients, try a multi-app client such as Ferdium, RamBox or Station. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
As I mentioned earlier, this scenario happens to me all the time. This is precisely why I refuse to discuss why we don't use Git or GitHub for Pidgin. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
I did a find before posting my comment and found yours. >Cool I like Wordpress. But they bought a fancy Pidgin clone for 50mil...? https://pidgin.im/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
Or, you can follow the installation instructions on the official GitHub repository: SpeedTest-CLI Installation Guide. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
That's a community cli client https://github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli rather than the official cli client https://www.speedtest.net/apps/cli. Source: about 3 years ago
If you read the docs for Speedtest-CLI you will see that the program timeouts after 10 seconds. Try using this for default timeout of 1 minute and also redirect errors to the same file. Speedtest-cli --timeout 60 >> /bin/speedtestoutput.txt 2>&1. Source: over 3 years ago
Already exists https://github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli/, mature, stable, packaged in major distributions. Source: over 3 years ago
I have an open-source software, which can show some stats about your PC/Server. One of those stats is internet speed. I have been using speedtest-cli for now, since it is open-source and runs without having to accept any license agreements. Source: about 4 years ago
