The idea for PicToLines began when founder John van Beek was searching for a unique Mother’s Day gift. He wanted his 4-year-old daughter to be part of the present, so he thought of turning a photo into a coloring page she could color herself. However, after a night of trial and error with existing AI tools, the results weren’t quite what he had hoped for. Determined to make it work, he teamed up with a colleague to train a custom AI model specifically for this purpose. Their efforts paid off, and PicToLines was born: a tool designed to create high-quality coloring pages that truly resemble the original photos.
