About Phixo and CodeMorph API

In their own words, as submitted to SaaSHub.

Phixo
CodeMorph API

Phixo is a Chrome extension that checks the email you're reading in Gmail or Outlook and explains, in plain English, why it might be a scam. Every scan runs four detection layers: a rules engine (typosquats, lookalike domains, brand spoofing), live threat-intelligence feeds (PhishTank, OpenPhish,...

Features and specs

What each product offers, as listed by its team.

Phixo 5 features
CodeMorph API 5 features
  • User-friendly interface
Phixo.app appears designed with simplicity in mind, making it accessible for users who may not have advanced technical or design skills to quickly edit or create content.
  • Web-based accessibility
Being a web application, Phixo.app can likely be accessed from any device with a browser without requiring downloads or installations, offering convenience across platforms.
  • Quick editing capabilities
The app seems geared toward fast photo or image editing tasks, allowing users to make adjustments efficiently without a steep learning curve.
  • No installation required
Since it runs in a browser, users can save storage space on their devices and avoid the hassle of software updates or installation issues.
  • Potentially low cost or free tier
Many web-based editing tools like this offer free access or affordable pricing tiers, making it accessible for casual users or those on a budget.
  • Convenient RapidAPI Integration
Being hosted on RapidAPI means it benefits from a standardized API testing interface, unified authentication via API keys, and simplified billing alongside other RapidAPI subscriptions, making it easy to test and integrate quickly.
  • Code Transformation Utility
As a code transformation/conversion tool, it can save developers time by automating repetitive code refactoring or conversion tasks that would otherwise need to be done manually.
  • Quick Prototyping
Useful for developers who want to quickly prototype code conversions or transformations without setting up local tooling or writing custom scripts.
  • Accessible Documentation via RapidAPI Hub
RapidAPI's hub typically provides built-in documentation, code snippets in multiple languages, and a testing console, making it easier to understand endpoint usage without needing external docs.
  • Pay-per-use or Tiered Pricing
Like most RapidAPI-hosted APIs, it likely offers flexible pricing tiers (including a free tier for testing), allowing developers to scale usage based on need without large upfront commitments.

Possible disadvantages

  • Limited Transparency on Capabilities
Detailed technical specifications, such as supported languages, transformation types, and accuracy rates, are not always clearly documented on the RapidAPI listing, making it hard to assess suitability before subscribing.
  • Dependency on Third-Party Availability
Since it's hosted by an individual developer (JackLillie) on RapidAPI rather than a major enterprise, there's a risk of inconsistent uptime, slower support response times, or the API being discontinued without much notice.
  • Potential Rate Limits and Pricing Constraints
Free or lower-tier plans typically come with strict rate limits, which may not be sufficient for production-level or high-volume code transformation tasks.
  • Possible Accuracy Limitations
Automated code transformation tools often struggle with complex or highly context-dependent code, potentially requiring manual review and correction after using the API.
  • Niche/Less Established API
Being a smaller, less mainstream API compared to well-known code transformation services, it may have a smaller user community, fewer reviews, and less battle-tested reliability in production environments.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Phixo and CodeMorph API.

What makes your product unique?

Phixo's answer

Phixo explains why an email is dangerous instead of just flashing a red warning. Every scan shows the specific evidence — a lookalike sender domain, a link whose destination doesn't match its text, failed email authentication, manipulation tactics in the wording — in plain English, right inside Gmail or Outlook. It's also privacy-first by design: the email body is analyzed in real time and never stored.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Phixo's answer

Most browser security tools protect your browsing in general and treat email as an afterthought. Phixo does one job deeply: it analyzes the actual email you're reading with four layers — a rules engine, live threat-intelligence feeds refreshed every 15 minutes, SPF/DKIM/DMARC authentication checks, and an AI read of the message's tactics. And it's honestly priced for individuals: a free tier with 10 scans a day, and paid plans from $2.99–4.99/month versus the $10–15/month typical of the category

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Phixo's answer

Individuals, freelancers, and small teams who handle important email without an IT department behind them — people who get invoices, client requests, and account notices all day and need a second pair of eyes before they click. Deliberately not enterprise: no seat minimums, no admin console, no sales calls.

What's the story behind your product?

Phixo's answer

The founder nearly fell for a phishing email — right logo, right wording, cursor already on the "Verify" button before something felt off. The unsettling part wasn't the email; it was realizing that nothing in the inbox explained what to look for. Existing tools either silently filter (and miss the sophisticated ones) or block without teaching you anything. Phixo was built to be the missing explanation: a tool that catches the threat and shows you exactly why, so you get sharper over time instead of staying dependent.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Phixo's answer

Chrome extension (Manifest V3, vanilla JavaScript), .NET 8 backend API, PostgreSQL, React dashboard, LLM-based analysis via Groq, and open threat-intelligence feeds (URLhaus, PhishTank, OpenPhish, ThreatFox).
