pathogen.vim VS AsyncRun.vim

I am a bit confused. What has this anything to do with your original question? vim-pathogen is for Vim editor itself, not for PyCharm. I don't know much about MacOS, so not sure how to help. Did you try the installation steps at https://github.com/tpope/vim-pathogen ? Source: over 1 year ago

Back in the old(ish) days of Vim, usage of tpope/vim-pathogen to manipulate runtimepath was a popular way to install plugins. As it got update 9 days ago, it might be still used by some. Source: over 1 year ago

To install any plugin using Pathogen plugin manager, you need to configure PAthogen in your vimrc if you have not done it already. You can find the installation docs on Pathogen.vim. Bundles, Plugins, and Packages. Oh my! - Vim plugin management have gone through many "best practices". vim-pathogen, Vundle, vim-plug, and Vim 8's :packadd. If you want to open a new terminal in the CWD of neovim, you couls either use neovim's built in terminal or, if it needa to be kitty, use the neovim AsyncRun-plugin and start kitty with the necessary command-line options to start in neovims's CWD(I uae this with Alacritty instead of Kitty). For running the file there are several tools. I have been using asynctasks.vim which is built on top of asyncrun.vim which I usually use to open a tmux pane and run the code/test. I can :Man blah to look up docs or :AsyncRun to build/run with jumpable output in the quickfix. Doing it within vim means I can pull from any register for pasting, yank without a mouse, hide buffers or move them to tabs, etc. Source: over 1 year ago

I use asyncrun.vim to see compile output as it happens (line by line instead of the whole dump when compile completes) and asynchronously (so I can keep navigating around). Source: over 1 year ago
