While the basic features are user-friendly, some of the more advanced tools might require a learning curve and understanding of disk management principles.
  • Resource Intensive
Running from live media can be resource-intensive and might be slower compared to installing native disk management tools directly on a system.
  • Occasional Compatibility Issues
Despite wide-ranging file system support, there can sometimes be compatibility issues with very new or very old hardware and uncommon file systems.

  • Dependency on External Service
Relying on an external platform for code ownership management introduces a dependency that could be problematic if the service experiences downtime or is discontinued.
  • Potential Learning Curve
Teams already comfortable with manually managing CODEOWNERS files may find it unnecessary to adopt a new tool, and onboarding the team to a new platform adds overhead.
  • Limited Feature Documentation
As a smaller platform, detailed documentation and tutorials may be sparse, making it harder for new users to fully understand and leverage all available features.
  • Pricing Uncertainty
For teams evaluating the tool, the pricing model and long-term costs may not be immediately clear, making it difficult to assess the value proposition compared to free alternatives like native CODEOWNERS files.

  • Ask HN: Where are the paid Linux desktop distributions?
There's Zorin OS Pro: https://zorin.com/os/pro/ And elementaryOS is kinda-sorta paid (you can pay $0 too): https://elementary.io/ Finally, while this is not a proper distro as such, ParterdMagic makes for an excellent rescue option: https://partedmagic.com/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • Installing windows and it says that driver is missing, not drives
You could, for example, boot your computer to an operating system which resides on a USB stick, and then examine the health of your existing drive.... Booting to something like Parted Magic, since it has most of the tools you'd need for "fixing" hard drives, already included with the OS. All that would take, is a USB stick, and a computer to download and mount the image on the stick (with a program like YUMI). Source: about 3 years ago
  • Need help putting unallocated space to windows partition, any help would be appreciated
But, ranting aside, you can use either * GParted Live, or * PartedMagic To boot into a linux OS and modify the drive's partitions. Specifically you'll want to move the โ€œD:โ€ disk partition to make the unallocated space next to the disk partition you want to extend. Source: about 3 years ago
