Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Pages and Documentas.

What makes your product unique?

Documentas's answer:

Documentas covers the full document lifecycle in one tool: it files documents automatically, collects signatures in bulk, and turns web forms into standardized records. Teams can import a messy shared drive as-is and the system classifies each file, extracts metadata like parties, dates, and amounts, and organizes everything into an ISO 15489-aligned structure. Most competing tools handle either e-signatures or document storage; Documentas is built around the record itself, with version control and a permanent audit trail on every document.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Documentas's answer:

Because it removes the manual work competitors leave behind. There is no need to pre-sort files before importing, no chasing signatories (reminders are automatic), and no copy-pasting form answers into templates. It suits teams preparing for ISO certification, due diligence, or financing, where a defensible audit trail matters as much as convenience. It comes from Actual Reports, the Estonian company behind PDF Generator API, which has run document infrastructure for businesses since 2014.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Documentas's answer:

Small and mid-sized teams without dedicated records or operations staff, typically in manufacturing, HR and people ops, professional services, healthcare and clinics, real estate, and construction. The common thread: they handle recurring contracts, sign-offs, and compliance documents, and need them organized and provable without hiring for it.

What's the story behind your product?

Documentas's answer:

Documentas was built by Actual Reports Oรœ, the Estonian team behind PDF Generator API. After years of powering document generation for other companies' products, the team saw the same problem everywhere: documents get created and signed, then scatter across drives and inboxes with no structure or audit trail. Documentas is their answer, a platform where documents are filed, signed, and archived as compliant records from the start.
