Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing OurAlcove and Selfcommit.dev.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

OurAlcove's answer

Committed couples in an established relationship who are stuck in recurring conflict patterns, not crisis. Couples who want to undersdtand each other better, grow closer.

What's the story behind your product?

OurAlcove's answer

Two founders who lived the pain of relationship hardships. Been through both therapy and couples therapy on numerous occasions, and noticed the structural gaps bewteen what they need and when they need it as people who seek help, and what therapy can provide in practice.

What makes your product unique?

OurAlcove's answer

OurAlcove isn't a content library or a chatbot you talk to, it's a layered "relationship operating system" in which the AI observes the couple's own conversation and intervenes, rather than being the conversation partner. That architectural stance is the root of everything else: The AI is the observer, not the other party. The couple talks to each other. Competitors are built around a couple interacting with an app. OurAlcove is in the room during the real conversation.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

OurAlcove's answer

It's the only one that's actually in the room with you, observing your real conversation, enforcing safety, and holding both partners' inner worlds, instead of handing you a quiz or a chatbot. And it works whether one or both partners engage: real solo value at 2am even if your partner never joins.
