Orbit delivers zero-downtime deployments for Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce. It's a small Rust agent you install on your own servers in one command, so it runs on any host โ€” no vendor lock-in.

What it does that generic deployers don't: atomic symlink releases with a traffic-holding cutover (incoming requests stay safe during the symlink swap), Magento-aware smart build-skip that turns typical deploys from ~3 minutes to ~75 seconds, a DB-migration block-window forecast that predicts how long setup:upgrade will lock the database before you deploy, and automatic health-checked rollback that reverts even after the symlink has already swapped.

It's CI/CD-ready (scoped Personal Access Tokens fire deploys from GitHub Actions or GitLab CI), ships a real-time deploy dashboard with team audit logs, and offers a orbit-agent deploy --stream mode that renders a live PHP-Deployer-style task list in your terminal. PHP Deployer users can migrate their existing deploy.php in one command. The alternative to PHP Deployer / Capistrano and to Adobe Commerce Cloud's bundled pipeline. Flat monthly pricing.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Orbit Deploy and DeployHQ.

What makes your product unique?

Orbit Deploy's answer

Orbit is a Rust deploy agent built specifically for Magento / Adobe Commerce. Unlike generic deployers, it adds a traffic-holding cutover that keeps requests safe during the symlink swap, Magento-aware smart build-skip (~75s deploys instead of ~3 minutes), a DB-migration block-window forecast that predicts setup:upgrade lock time before you deploy, and automatic health-checked rollback โ€” plus a real-time dashboard and team audit log the older CLI tools lack.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Orbit Deploy's answer

PHP Deployer and Capistrano are generic CLIs you script and maintain yourself, with no traffic-holding layer, no dashboard, and no Magento awareness. Adobe Commerce Cloud only runs on Adobe-managed infrastructure inside a six-figure license. Orbit gives you zero-downtime, Magento-aware deploys on your own servers โ€” one-command install, CI/CD triggers, auto-rollback, and flat monthly pricing.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Orbit Deploy's answer

Magento / Adobe Commerce merchants, and the agencies and developers who deploy stores for them โ€” from a single independent merchant on the Solo plan to multi-site dev shops managing many environments.

What's the story behind your product?

Orbit Deploy's answer

Byte8 grew out of Soft Commerce, a London Magento agency running and deploying stores since 2012. Deploying Magento traditionally meant a frozen terminal, a maintenance window, and hoping setup:upgrade didn't lock the database for too long. We built Orbit to make zero-downtime deploys boring and safe โ€” atomic, forecasted, auto-rolling-back โ€” and turned that internal tooling into a product.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Orbit Deploy's answer

A Rust deploy agent (installed on your own servers), with Rust (Axum, async-graphql, SQLx) backend services, a Next.js / React dashboard, and PostgreSQL for storage. Targets Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce on standard Linux hosts.
