What's the story behind your product?

Optioneer's answer

  • Optioneer started from a simple problem: tracking options trades properly with spreadsheets and broker interfaces was unnecessarily difficult.
  • It was built by a retail options trader who wanted one place to understand P&L, Greeks, portfolio risk and multi-leg strategies without doing everything manually.
  • Over time, it expanded from a portfolio tracker into a broader options platform with screeners, trade discovery, Wheel tracking, alerts, broker sync and mobile apps.
  • The product has now transitioned from free access to a Premium-only model with a 7-day trial.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

  • RevenueCat is used for mobile subscription infrastructure, alongside App Store and Google Play billing.
  • The architecture also supports market-data integrations, alerts and read-only broker synchronization.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Optioneer's answer

  • Optioneer is a B2C product for individual retail traders, rather than an enterprise SaaS dependent on a few large customers.
  • There are currently no individual customers that represent a significant concentration of revenue.
  • Paying users are primarily self-directed options traders using strategies such as covered calls, cash-secured puts, the Wheel and multi-leg spreads.
  • This gives the business a diversified subscription model rather than reliance on one or two major accounts.
