Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing OpenSorted and WP Baseball Predictor.

What makes your product unique?

WP Baseball Predictor's answer:

WP Baseball Predictor grades itself in public. Every pick for every MLB game is locked before first pitch, graded automatically against the official final score the next morning, and committed to a public, timestamped GitHub archive, so the track record can be verified rather than taken on trust.

Picks are shown with a confidence tier (Slight Lean, Confident, Strong, Lock) instead of a raw number, and the same model powers a run-any-matchup calculator with pitcher and injury overrides, a full-slate parlay play and home-run props.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

WP Baseball Predictor's answer:

  • The record is verifiable: locked picks and graded results live in a public GitHub archive with commit timestamps, wins and losses alike.
  • It is free to use: the website and the iPhone/iPad app cost nothing, the calculator gives free predictions every day, and every past day's picks are free. Today's picks and unlimited predictions are unlocked with a day, monthly or all-access pass (Canadian dollars).
  • It shows the price: best available sportsbook odds appear next to each pick, so a win rate can be judged against the actual payout.
  • It does not take wagers: analytics and entertainment only, with no bookmaker integration.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

WP Baseball Predictor's answer:

Baseball fans who want a data-driven read on every game before first pitch, recreational bettors who want a model's opinion alongside the market price, and analytics-minded fans who like to check a track record for themselves. The company is based in Canada and the audience is mostly in Canada and the United States.

What's the story behind your product?

WP Baseball Predictor's answer:

WP North Entertainment Group Ltd. (Ontario, Canada) built WP Hockey Predictor first and has run it live since the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. WP Baseball Predictor followed in April 2026 as the sister product for MLB, built on the same principles: a statistical model, public confidence tiers instead of raw probabilities, and a grading pipeline that publishes wins and losses alike. The free iOS app launched in July 2026.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

WP Baseball Predictor's answer:

Python and Flask on Google Cloud, behind Cloudflare; SQLite for picks and results; a React Native (Expo) app for iPhone and iPad; the MLB Stats API and ESPN feeds for data; Stripe and Apple In-App Purchase for passes; GitHub for the public pick archive.
