Because the ellipses are so elongated in the finer details it feels like layered brush-strokes, but in the coarse background the "flatness" of the splats dominates. Compare to my stippling notebook[0], an even more simplified image filter (it's "just" tiled... - Source: Hacker News / 6 days ago
Love it! I was looking at this a little while ago, and used some of The Pudding's data on makeup/foundation shades (https://pudding.cool/2018/06/makeup-shades/) and plotted it into the Oklab colorspace (https://observablehq.com/@55th/foundation-shades). The shades form themselves into that same crescent as seen in the article. - Source: Hacker News / 7 days ago
Https://observablehq.com/@mxfh/a-papercraft-friendly-world-map-projection I made a custom projection once, that's a bit friendlier to fold and comes in one tile. Give https://cakephp.org/ a try. It also is one of the oldest ones out there, so quite mature and stable while being rather lightweight. Serving JSON API seems like a good fit. Source: over 3 years ago

As the name of the service says it will work best with Laravel but it is not a problem to modify code from other frameworks to make it work the same way. I have several applications created this way in CakePHP. I have this set to manual after clicking the deploy button, but if you want you can turn on quick deploy and then it will publish the application after a push to the main branch (or another one, depending... - Source: dev.to / over 3 years ago
