ChartLabs is manual backtesting software that lets you trade through historical charts just like you would in a live environment. Place market orders, limit orders, and stop orders to test whether your trading strategy actually works โ€” before risking real money. We clean all historical data before you see it. Raw tick data from Dukascopy goes through spike removal, gap handling, and outlier detection so your backtest results reflect real market conditions. Coverage includes forex (20 years), indices (15 years), crypto, and commodities. Analytics go beyond win rate: profit factor, max drawdown, Sharpe ratio, Sortino ratio, Monte Carlo simulation, and strategy correlation. Filter by symbol, session, day of week, or custom trade tags. Features include multi-screen charting, drawing tools, indicators, automatic chart snapshots on every trade, and separate training and verification sessions to prevent overfitting.

Nullstack features and specs

  • Full-Stack Capabilities
Nullstack allows for the development of both client-side and server-side functionalities within a single project, providing a more unified development process.
  • Seamless SSR
It offers built-in support for server-side rendering, improving performance and SEO without the need for complex configurations.
  • Zero tooling
Nullstack provides a setup that requires minimal configuration and does not depend heavily on additional tools, simplifying the development workflow.
  • Component-based Architecture
Promotes the use of components, encouraging modularity and reusability of code, which can improve maintainability and scalability of applications.
  • Hot Module Replacement
Supports HMR, allowing developers to see immediate changes in their applications without refreshing the entire page, improving development efficiency.

Possible disadvantages of Nullstack

  • Smaller Community
Compared to more established frameworks, Nullstack has a smaller community, which can result in fewer resources and third-party tools.
  • Learning Curve
Developers need to learn the Nullstack-specific ways of handling both front-end and back-end development, which might be a hurdle for those accustomed to other frameworks.
  • Limited Ecosystem
Due to its newer and less widely adopted nature, there might be limited third-party libraries and plugins readily available compared to more mature frameworks.
  • Rapidly Evolving
Being relatively new and possibly evolving quickly, developers might face breaking changes more frequently compared to more established technologies.

ChartLabs features and specs

  • Easy Chart Creation
ChartLabs provides a straightforward way to create charts and data visualizations without requiring extensive coding knowledge, making it accessible for users of varying technical skill levels.
  • API-Driven Approach
ChartLabs offers an API-based chart generation service, allowing developers to easily integrate chart creation into their applications, workflows, and automated processes.
  • Multiple Chart Types
The platform supports a variety of chart types including bar charts, line charts, pie charts, and more, giving users flexibility in how they present their data.
  • URL-Based Chart Rendering
Charts can be generated and shared via simple URLs, making it easy to embed visualizations in emails, reports, dashboards, and web pages without complex setup.
  • No Software Installation Required
As a cloud-based service, ChartLabs eliminates the need to install or maintain charting libraries locally, reducing setup time and infrastructure overhead.

Possible disadvantages of ChartLabs

  • Limited Brand Recognition
ChartLabs is a relatively niche tool compared to well-established alternatives like Chart.js, D3.js, or Google Charts, which means fewer community resources, tutorials, and third-party integrations are available.
  • Dependency on External Service
Relying on a third-party API for chart generation introduces a dependency risk โ€” if the service experiences downtime or is discontinued, it could impact applications that depend on it.
  • Potential Pricing Constraints
Depending on usage volume, the costs of using a hosted chart generation service may add up, especially for high-traffic applications that generate a large number of charts.
  • Limited Customization Compared to Libraries
While convenient, API-based chart services may offer less fine-grained customization and interactivity compared to full-featured client-side charting libraries like D3.js or Highcharts.
  • Latency Concerns
Generating charts via an external API introduces network latency, which may not be suitable for real-time or highly interactive dashboards where instant rendering is required.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Nullstack and ChartLabs.

What makes your product unique?

ChartLabs's answer:

We clean all historical data before you see it โ€” most platforms skip this entirely and feed you raw data full of spikes and gaps. We also focus purely on manual backtesting, not automated. You trade through historical charts the same way you'd trade live, which builds real execution skill. And we don't do tiered pricing or gamification โ€” one plan, full access, no gimmicks.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ChartLabs's answer:

Most backtesting platforms either charge 2-3x more for their top tier, hide features behind paywalls, or add unnecessary complexity. We built ChartLabs because we trade full-time and got tired of all of it. You get cleaned data, professional analytics (Sharpe, Sortino, Monte Carlo, strategy correlation), multi-screen charting, and training/verification sessions โ€” all included. No "upgrade to unlock."

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ChartLabs's answer:

Forex, indices, and crypto traders who want to validate their strategies on historical data before going live. Both newer traders building screen time and experienced traders refining their edge. Anyone who believes backtesting is training, not a checkbox.

What's the story behind your product?

ChartLabs's answer:

We're full-time forex traders. After years of using backtesting tools that were overpriced, overcomplicated, or both, we decided to build what we actually needed โ€” something simple, with clean data, honest analytics, and fair pricing. No marketing gimmicks, no leaderboards, no fake urgency. Just a solid tool for serious traders.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ChartLabs's answer:

Web-based platform. Beyond that we'd rather talk about what it does for traders than what it's built with.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

ChartLabs's answer:

We don't name individual customers. Our users are forex, indices, and crypto traders around the world โ€” from people just starting to backtest their first strategy to experienced traders running multiple strategies across different markets.
