As founder and developer I have built many web services. They are hosted on different platforms depending on my needs. This means I have different SSL certificates all over the place issued by various vendors and keeping track of when they expire was a nightmare. There there use to be a stronger distinction between Text Editors and IDEโs. Of course there is a wide spectrum from something like โnanoโ to Microsoftโs Visual Studio (not VScode) On macOS, BBEdit has had SFTP since the late 1990s.
