  • Run old software on new Ubuntu.
    I want to use old software from 2011 (https://sourceforge.net/projects/nokuntu/). It doesn't exist in the official Ubuntu repository anymore. The .deb package from sourceforge has a big list of unmet dependencies. This is the use case where Linux fails miserably compare to Windows. Every time linux distro updates, all packages have to be updated. On windows, you build it once, and it works even 10 years later.... Source: about 4 years ago
