Because Node.js operates on a single-threaded asynchronous runtime, it is inherently vulnerable to processes that hog the CPU for too long. Check out invoicely.com, I used them when I was starting out. It's pretty easy to use and the invoice looks very neat. They have an option to send your invoice to your client in pdf form so they can download it if they need to. They also send you a notif if your client has opened the invoice.
