There are sites that will let you "race" directly against one or more other people whilst typing quotes or random words like play.typeracer.com nitrotype.com or keymash.io. Source: over 3 years ago
IMO, Monkeytype is the best website for practicing your typing speed unlike other websites such as typeracer.com, nitrotype.com, typingtest.com, etc.... Which are solely used for improving typing accuracy. Also, 10 words mode was born out of Monkeytype, and I guess what Mythical Rocket just did typing at around 400 wpm on 10 words is very satisfying and motivating. Don't get me wrong, kool-keys, but inspiration... Source: over 3 years ago
You can absolutely improve. I'm no speed demon the keyboard, but with consistent practice on first on teaching sites like typingclub.com and then on fun sites like typeracer.com or nitrotype.com I can average 80-90 wpm consistently. Source: over 3 years ago
Monkeytype is the most visited and has the most traffic typing website (with over 130+ thousand unique users daily) compared to 10fastfingers.com, typeracer.com, typrx.com, nitrotype.com, keybr.com, keyhero.com, etc...., and that's according to https://www.siteworthtraffic.com/report/monkeytype.com. If its typing, nitrotype.com works very well. However, for other things, you can also do (just heard about these recently) Kahoots, quizzizzes, blookets, โEscape Roomsโ, and so much more. All of these to my knowledge donโt really require much work from teachers other than feeding the answers into the program. Source: over 3 years ago
Every commit has a message. Every PR has a title and description. The status update already exists. It's just locked in GitHub. Who this is for: - Founders updating investors - PMs writing release notes - CEOs who want visibility without standups - Anyone who asks "what shipped?" and waits for an engineer to respond What it does: Connect your repos. Ask questions: - "What shipped this month?" - "Who... - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
Gitmore (https://gitmore.io) โ natural language queries across GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket. Instead of filtering PRs, scanning commit logs, or asking engineers for updates: - "What shipped last week?" - "Who's been working on the API?" - "Which PRs have been open longest?" - "Summarize this month's releases" Plain English in, plain English out. How it works: Connect your repos via OAuth. We register... - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
If you're a founder who doesn't code, you probably rely on engineers to tell you what's shipping. That works until investors ask for updates, customers want a changelog, or you just need to know where things stand. What it does: Connect your repos. Ask questions: "What shipped last week?" "What's in progress?" "Who worked on what?" Get plain English answers from your commit history. Automated reports: Schedule... - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
