NUT can be difficult to set up and configure, especially for users unfamiliar with command-line interfaces or detailed system configurations.
  • Limited GUI Options
While there are some graphical user interfaces available, NUT primarily relies on command-line utilities, which may not be user-friendly for all administrators.
  • Occasional Driver Issues
Certain UPS models may face compatibility issues or lack complete support, requiring manual intervention or updates to drivers.

Analysis of api-usage

Overall verdict

  • Without independent verification, api-usage (apiusage.info) cannot be confidently confirmed as a good or reliable service since there is insufficient public information, reviews, or track record available to assess its quality, security, and support.

Why this product is good

  • Limited publicly available information makes it difficult to verify claims about the service
  • No substantial user reviews or third-party assessments found to confirm reliability or performance
  • Unclear track record regarding uptime, customer support quality, or data security practices
  • Potential newer or niche player in the API monitoring/usage tracking space with limited market validation

Recommended for

  • Users willing to conduct their own due diligence and testing before committing
  • Those seeking a possibly low-cost or niche alternative to established API usage tracking tools
  • Developers comfortable trying newer services and providing feedback
  • Not recommended for enterprises requiring proven, well-documented vendor reliability without further research

I believe Synology's UPS monitoring is based on nut-server[1]. In my setup, I am running the server on a separate machine that reads UPS state over USB and Synology is just a client. The Synology software is based on N.U.T. https://networkupstools.org and the Plus 1100 (listed on NUT as the Easy Power 1200) is supported in the native package with the 'blazer' driver. If you have the skills, I would SSH into the NAS and see if the device is 'noticed' or better yet recognised by the USB sub-system when you plug it it. (Normal Linux would use the lsusb command to see devices but I have no NAS... Source: about 3 years ago
