ParentPulse treats the household as a small economy: a six-tier behavior clip chart, a weekly chore board, and a star currency kids actually spend in a Reward Shop their parents define — so effort, recognition and reward are one system instead of three disconnected apps.

Two things follow from it being built by a parent rather than for a market. It is priced per family, not per seat: one subscription covers up to 4 guardians and 10 kids, across one household or two. And it installs from the browser on any phone, tablet or desktop — no app store, no separate download for each child, and a free tier that is a real product rather than a countdown.

Three reasons, none of which require naming anyone else.

The free tier is a genuine product, not a trial. The shared calendar, chore board, clip chart, star currency, Reward Shop, recognition wall and printable caregiver prep sheet are all free, with no credit card.

Pricing is per family. One ParentPulse+ subscription covers every guardian and every child, so nothing gets more expensive because your family is large or spans two homes.

Adoption costs nothing. It is a web app, so there is no store listing to hunt down and no install per kid — it runs on the old tablet already stuck to the fridge.

Where it deliberately does not compete: this is not a screen-time or location-tracking tool. It is about chores, behavior, and celebrating the wins.

Parents and guardians running a household that has outgrown sticky notes and group texts — most often families with three or more children, where coordination itself is the problem.

It is built to fit several shapes of home: two parents under one roof, a single parent, blended families splitting the week across two households, and the grandparents or babysitters who need to step in without a long briefing. Up to 4 guardians and 10 children.

It is consumer software for families, not a business tool. There are no organizations, seats, or admin tiers.

It was built by a dad of five for his own household, and it still is — every feature had to survive contact with real kids before it shipped.

The problem it started from was fragmentation. A paper chore chart nobody updated, a behavior chart on the fridge, rewards negotiated case by case, and a calendar that existed mostly in one parent's head. Pulling that into one shared pulse — where a chore completed, a clip moved up, and a reward earned all run through the same ledger — is the whole idea.

React, TypeScript, Vite and Tailwind on the front end, shipped as an installable progressive web app — no native wrapper and no app store.

Supabase provides Postgres with row-level security, authentication, realtime, storage and Deno edge functions. Row-level security does real work here: the core requirement is that one family can never read another family's data, so it is enforced in the database and covered by an automated test suite rather than trusted to application code.

Netlify hosts and deploys the front end. The weekly family coaching reports are generated with Claude. There are no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs anywhere in the stack.
