Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing musen and Hypervector.

What's the story behind your product?

musen's answer

musen started from a simple frustration: streaming gave us every song ever recorded, but killed the effortless magic of radio. We spend more time choosing than listening. musen was built to bring that magic back with modern AI: a station that knows you, curates real music in real time, and only asks one thing of you, press play. It launched free for everyone, and new sections and features unlock over time.

What makes your product unique?

musen's answer

musen is an AI radio, not another playlist app. Instead of asking you to pick what to play, it curates a continuous stream of real music (not AI-generated) that adapts in real time to your mood, habits, and time of day. You can shape the stream with natural-language requests, voice, or even a photo, and train it with simple Love / Not-for-me signals. Optional AI hosts introduce tracks and add talk moments between songs, like a radio DJ that actually knows you.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

musen's answer

Streaming services like Spotify or Pandora still make you do the work: build playlists, pick stations, skip tracks. musen removes that step entirely. Press play and your personal station starts immediately, then improves the more you listen. It is free for everyone, with native apps on iOS and Android plus a full web app, so there is no paywall between you and the full experience.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

musen's answer

Music lovers who are tired of playlist fatigue and decision-making: people who miss the lean-back feel of radio but want it personalized. It fits anyone who listens while working, commuting, exercising, or winding down and just wants good music to start instantly, on iOS, Android, or the web.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

musen's answer

Native mobile apps for iOS and Android. Real-time AI curation runs server-side, combining large language models with music-metadata and listening-signal analysis. Optional AI hosts use neural text-to-speech with selectable voices and personalities.
