I rediscovered Munin. To my surprise it is written entirely in Perl. I remember Munin from years ago... It still seems healty and maintained and lies ready on your Deb-Repositories. So I followed the Easy Install Guide... Which really is easy, but fails to mention that you need to install your own HTTP-Server to serve the HTML-reports. Source: about 4 years ago
A bit of background, which may make understanding my choices in this lib easier: Munin is a resource monitoring tool using rrdtool, usually run in a Server/Client Setup. When you do not have enough power you would get errors because looking up the plots would simply fail. Sounds more that there is one disk which is slower. I had one 2TB external usb which was really slow and the latency of lookups was through the roof. Are you on linux ? Then install munin-monitoring.org it shows latency of the disks out of the box. Basically they make no difference -- their effect is a rounding error -- and they were implemented for... - Source: Hacker News / 2 days ago

First of all, did you disable the calculator? This app is an amazing feat of intellect, and should be retained due to its fundamental worth of ingenuity. https://medium.com/@jnebos/the-humble-android-calculator-4f139e8b1699 Second, the kernel itself presents attack surfaces. It is important to accept updates, when they are offered. - Source: Hacker News / 6 days ago
>so is it a white matriarchal system oppressing men and minorities No, obviously it isn't a matriarchal system. Patriarchy can and does oppress men as well as women. If you're actually interested in something other than trying to dunk on feminism, here are some sources you can follow. You can search to find more if you want.... - Source: Hacker News / 5 days ago
I wrote this in 2018: AI and privacy are incompatible https://medium.com/@andrewkemendo/artificial-intelligence-and-privacy-are-incompatible-5375035f15c0 Highlight towards the end โI will make a prediction of my own: more deeply intertwined AI based services will increase the decision making capabilities for users over the next several decades to such an extent, that it will be considered irresponsible not to use... - Source: Hacker News / 8 days ago
