Mountain StackBlitzI've started using this as my main IDE for new projects when I'm trying things out. If it keeps getting better at the rate it has been, it'll be even better than coding locally.

Take a look at Mountain. It can automatically unmount/mount disks on suspend/resume. I no longer need it with my current setup so havenโt used it in a couple years and it doesnโt look to have been updated in years so YMMV. Source: over 4 years ago
I use a little utility app called Mountain. It can be set to "Unmount external volumes on sleep" and "Mount favorite servers on wake from sleep". I use it with USB and ethernet-connected devices and it has done exactly what I want. But I'm still on Catalina and have never used a Thunderbolt DAS.
