Possible disadvantages of Minut

  • Limited Features
Unlike some advanced home security systems, Minut focuses primarily on noise and occupancy monitoring, lacking broader security features like video surveillance.
  • Dependent on Internet Connection
The system requires a stable internet connection for real-time monitoring and notifications, which may be a limitation in areas with poor connectivity.
  • Potential False Alerts
Thereโ€™s a possibility of receiving false alerts from noise levels that donโ€™t equate to actual disturbances, which can be inconvenient for users.

Minut mentions (1)

  • Has anyone employed cameras like Wyze to monitor their aging parents for falls, etc?
I don't like the idea of cameras in the house, just for general privacy and hacking. I have not tried it yet, but I keep seeing ads for minut.com, and their sensor looks interesting. The next step I will probably take would be rolling my own system with Home Assistant and motion detectors throughout the house with the idea being if they are home (alarm is off or on night mode) we get alerts for lack of motion...
