Took 48:19 Highly recommend checking it out at http://egraether.com/mine3d/ The sweep mode is much easier to manage as it clears up flagged mines. This is the classic mode which leaves everything on the board until you finish it. Source: almost 4 years ago

There's another version out there that I like for the quality of the game called proxx.app which ALWAYS starts you with an empty cell, so you have some semblance of ability on the early moves. However, it doesn't have the stats/data/quests/etc of minsweeper online, so....nothing is perfect. Source: over 2 years ago

I think HTTP 203 did a video on how they improved the frontend performance of https://proxx.app/ which was a PWA demo at I/O. It's compute intensive and cannot be done by the backend layer. Source: over 3 years ago
