Meson is recommended for developers working on open-source projects, cross-platform applications, or any software that requires a modern and efficient build system. It is especially beneficial for projects where quick iteration and build times are a priority.
Based on our record, Meson should be more popular than LLDB. It has been mentiond 48 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Just like most open source projects, systemd is never “finished” and there is always more that can be done to improve things. Though the project already maintains a high quality bar and is very robust, the maintainers wanted some help adding extra test coverage and finding edge cases, particularly in the resolved component. The project uses the Meson build system, which can be configured to output code coverage... - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
Actually looks very similar to Meson [https://mesonbuild.com/], which is getting a lot of traction in FOSS [https://mesonbuild.com/Users.html]. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
I’m still surprised how people ignore Meson: https://mesonbuild.com/ And Mesons awesome dependency handling: https://mesonbuild.com/Dependencies.html https://mesonbuild.com/Using-the-WrapDB.html#using-the-wrapdb After reading about GNU Autotools (help!) and suffering ever awful thing Java created I wondered if C/C++ could do better. They do. For years :). - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
Than checked Autotools and shared the head. At the very same time Meson[1] appeared and the thing with Builds is solved :) [1] https://mesonbuild.com. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
With cargo-c I try to use the best practices to support as many platform as possible, trying to stay in sync with what meson does. Sadly what is conceptually trivial, installing a package, has lots of details that are platform-specific. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
When using a debugger such as gdb or lldb, typically you:. - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
I'm on the record of loving the VSCode experience with Rust. And I do think that it's amazing that a "non-IDE" can feel so much like an IDE. However, I've recently pivoted off of that stance. I know it's still in EAP, but Rust Rover gives me all of the things that I get from VSCode plus an easier integration with LLDB. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
Fortunately, we can use this same technique with our Node.js applications! This is possible through llnode: a LLDB plugin which enables us to inspect Node.js core dumps. With llnode, we can inspect objects in the memory and look at the complete backtrace of the program, including native (C++) frames and JavaScript frames. It can be used on a running Node.js application or through a core dump. - Source: dev.to / about 3 years ago
The CMake-based, itk-wasm build system tooling enables the same C++ build system configuration and code to be reused when building a native system binary or a WebAssembly binary. As a result, native binary debugging tools, such as GDB, LLDB, or the Visual Studio debugger can be utilized. - Source: dev.to / over 3 years ago
The debugger component of the LLVM project. It’s what you’re typing into when you type po someExpression. https://lldb.llvm.org/ Web searches could help explain a lot of this for you 😊. Source: almost 4 years ago
