Melio allows small businesses to take control of their cash flow with flexible business payments. A free and easy-to-use B2B payment solution, Melio has no setup or monthly fees. It helps small businesses in the US pay any business expense by ACH bank transfer or credit card - even where cards arenโ€™t accepted. And vendors still get paid their way - by check or bank transfer.

Why Melio: Pay any invoice with a bank transfer for FREE, or use your credit card to defer payment (2.9% fee). Vendors receive a check or bank deposit. Pay with a credit card and hold onto cash for up to 45 extra days. Collect points and rewards along the way. The platform is user friendly, reduces costs. saves you time, and enables SMBs to focus their business rather than logistics. It has a seamless sync with QuickBooks and Xero, which eliminates a dual entry of vendor/bill information.

Currently, Melio is available to small businesses in the US only, though it enables international payments.

Melio features and specs

  • User-Friendly Interface
Melio offers an intuitive and easy-to-navigate interface which simplifies the accounts payable process for businesses of all sizes.
  • No Monthly Fees
Melio doesnโ€™t charge any subscription or monthly fees, allowing businesses to manage payments without added financial burdens.
  • Flexible Payment Methods
Users can choose between ACH, credit card, or paper checks to pay their vendors, providing flexibility in managing cash flow.
  • Integration with Accounting Software
Melio integrates seamlessly with popular accounting software, such as QuickBooks, to help businesses maintain accurate financial records.
  • Free ACH Transfers
ACH bank transfers are free, which can result in significant savings for businesses, especially those that need to make frequent payments.

Possible disadvantages of Melio

  • Credit Card Fees
Paying with a credit card incurs a 2.9% fee, which can be costly for businesses that prefer or need to use this payment method regularly.
  • Limited International Payments
Melio primarily supports payments within the United States, which might not be suitable for businesses with extensive international vendor relationships.
  • Transaction Limits
There are some limits on the amount that can be sent per transaction, which could be restrictive for larger businesses or significant payments.
  • Processing Time for Paper Checks
Payments made by paper check can take longer to process compared to electronic methods, which might delay vendor payments.
  • Customer Support
Some users report that customer support response times can be slow, which could be problematic if urgent payment issues arise.

React Engine features and specs

  • Isomorphic rendering
React Engine enables both server-side and client-side rendering of React components, providing a seamless isomorphic/universal JavaScript experience. This allows for faster initial page loads and better SEO while maintaining rich client-side interactivity.
  • Express.js integration
React Engine is designed as a view engine for Express.js, making it easy to integrate React into existing Express-based applications with minimal configuration. It follows familiar Express conventions for setting up view engines.
  • Built-in React Router support
The library comes with built-in support for React Router, enabling developers to easily set up server-side and client-side routing without complex manual configuration.
  • PayPal backing
React Engine was developed and maintained by PayPal, which provided credibility and ensured it was battle-tested in a large-scale production environment before being open-sourced.
  • Simplified setup
The library abstracts away much of the complexity involved in setting up server-side rendering with React, reducing boilerplate code and allowing developers to get a universal React application running quickly.

Possible disadvantages of React Engine

  • Abandoned project
The repository appears to be no longer actively maintained, with no recent commits or updates. This makes it risky to use in production as bugs and security vulnerabilities may go unpatched.
  • Outdated dependencies
React Engine was built for older versions of React and React Router. It may not be compatible with modern versions of React (16+, 17, 18) or React Router (v5, v6), limiting its usefulness in current projects.
  • Limited ecosystem support
The library is tightly coupled to Express.js, meaning it cannot be easily used with other Node.js frameworks like Koa, Hapi, or Fastify, reducing its flexibility.
  • Better modern alternatives
Modern tools like Next.js, Remix, and Vite with SSR plugins provide far more comprehensive and well-maintained solutions for server-side rendering with React, making React Engine largely obsolete.
  • Limited documentation and community
The project has relatively sparse documentation and a small community, making it difficult for new developers to troubleshoot issues or find examples and best practices for advanced use cases.

Analysis of Melio

Overall verdict

  • Melio is generally considered a good option for small businesses looking for a simple and efficient way to handle bill payments.

Why this product is good

  • Melio offers a user-friendly platform that allows businesses to pay vendors using bank transfers or credit/debit cards. Its key benefits include easy integration with accounting software like QuickBooks, no fees for bank transfers, and the ability to schedule payments. It also provides flexibility by allowing credit card payments for vendors who only accept checks, thereby improving cash flow management.

Recommended for

  • Small businesses
  • Businesses looking for integration with QuickBooks
  • Companies needing to improve cash flow flexibility
  • Organizations that prefer paying vendors via credit card while vendors receive a bank transfer or check.

Analysis of React Engine

Overall verdict

  • Unable to verify a project specifically named 'React Engine' on GitHub with confidence, as this does not correspond to a widely recognized or well-documented open-source project that I have reliable information about. There may be multiple small or niche repositories using this name, and quality would vary significantly between them.

Why this product is good

  • React Engine is not a commonly recognized name in the mainstream React ecosystem
  • No verifiable consensus data on stars, maintenance status, documentation quality, or community adoption is available
  • Could refer to a personal project, a boilerplate, a rendering engine, or a niche tool - without more context, its quality cannot be assessed
  • Names like this are sometimes used for student projects, abandoned repos, or experimental tools that lack production readiness

Recommended for

  • Not recommended without further verification
  • Developers should search GitHub directly, check star count, last commit date, open issues, and documentation before adopting
  • Best suited for evaluation on a case-by-case basis rather than a blanket recommendation
  • If you have a specific repository URL, sharing it would allow for a more accurate assessment

I Use Melio Payments (https://meliopayments.com/) - You can set up a free account and you can have them send you money or you can send out money via ACH (which is free) or use a debit or credit card account (Fee associated). I use it to pay my sub contractors weekly. You can only see the last 4 digits of the banking info once you have sent or received it. Ive been using them for almost 2 years and no complains.
