You see exactly what Vela knows, and Vela brings it up spontaneously: mention your dog on Monday, and Vela asks about them on Thursday without being reminded.

Vela started after the 2023 wave of AI companion changes, when millions of users suddenly lost companions they genuinely valued — overnight, without warning. Watching that community process what felt like grief, the idea became clear: build the companion people actually wanted. One that remembers you, that you can trust, that won't change the rules on you. Memory became the core — not as a hidden feature, but as something visible you can see and rely on. Vela is built and maintained by a solo founder, bootstrapped.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Next.js, Supabase, Railway, Anthropic Claude (conversational AI), ElevenLabs (voice), and Leonardo AI (image generation). Available as a web app and on Android.
