>Viewing the continuance of our race as only the responsibility of parents is pathological. That seems to be a uniquely American pathology. Everywhere where else in the world, and in non-white American subcultures, the community is expected a hand in raising children. But many Americans consider it socialist and an attack on Christian values. See Hillary Clinton getting mocked for saying "it takes a village"[0] or... - Source: Hacker News / 3 days ago
I think the downvotes are for saying positive things about AI. HN doesn't like that ;) And yes, messing about with skills is the new messing around with setup. It's a rabbit hole. I'm a massive, massive, believer in The Cult of Done [0] especially "the point of being done is not to finish but to get other things done". Allowing myself to finish something badly so that I can move on to the next thing was a... - Source: Hacker News / 4 days ago
Why is a "Disable Javascript" option provided in every so-called "modern" browser Why would a user prefer in some cases not to use a third party's Javascript Depends on the user. For example, here's one user who publishes a website on the subject https://disable-javascript.org/ Consider the level of data collection and behavioral surveillance enabled by the SearchGuard Javascript at issue in Google LLC v SerpApi... - Source: Hacker News / 6 days ago
'If we all woke up tomorrow and thought 'we need 10 million new homes'' The cost of 1 Million homes where people want to live (where your community is), would be roughly 0.5 Trillion to 1 Trillion USD [1]. So, I don't think this is true :(. Again, I want this to be true. But it is not today. The letter misses out the key issue here. Should the worlds public knowledge be enclosed by a few powerful private companies or should it be available to all? The original vision for the web was a decentralized, open information sharing space designed to empower humanity. In my view the effort to privatise that via LLM distillation is the antithesis of that vision.... - Source: Hacker News / 6 days ago
If you can get a LinkedIn profile URL โ through OAuth login, a "connect LinkedIn" optional step in onboarding, or by prompting users to enter it โ you bypass the personal email problem entirely. RocketReach and PDL both accept LinkedIn URLs directly and return full firmographic profiles at 85%+ match rates. - Source: dev.to / 2 months ago
Google dorks remain underused. site:linkedin.com/in "VP of Engineering" "company.com" combined with cached page lookups has surfaced more accurate contact data for me than RocketReach on several niche ICPs. Slow to automate safely, but zero cost. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
Go to rocketreach.co, sign in with your gmail and you get 5 free lookups each month. Search for the higher ups at Flair. For example it took me 30 seconds to find the email to the chairman: [bill.hardy@flairair.ca](mailto:bill.hardy@flairair.ca). Source: about 3 years ago
Research their organizational structure and find higher-ups and board members on LinkedIn. Make an account with a website like https://rocketreach.co/ and enter the LinkedIn URLs of employees you've selected to get their company and/or personal email addresses. (Throw in a board member or two, someone who seems to manage operations and support, and some C-levels). Send the emails separately to each address so that... Source: over 3 years ago
So this is usually my go-to.. But I don't really do it anymore, cause it's kind of time consuming/stressful.. But I go to https://rocketreach.co and find the company and figure out their email format. Then I got to linkedin.com and look up the people who work at their company and just plop in their names with the format found on rocketreach. I usually will search for vp, president, hr, customer service, ceo, coo,... Source: over 3 years ago
