I think it's intresting to read about the guy who made yolo, take a look at his website and later, his thoughts about the monster he may have created. https://medium.com/@graham.wallington/the-evolution-of-yolo-joseph-redmons-departure-and-the-ethics-of-computer-vision-66d9b75f0eca https://pjreddie.com/darknet/yolo/. - Source: Hacker News / 1 day ago
One hardly needs to soar to the exalted heights of "mysticism" or any sort of "ineffable qualities" to come into contact with the limitations of LLMs. 1) Models do not perform the functional equivalent of reasoning at all. When we reason, we don't simply babble out textual derivations of prior examples of "reasoning" to which we have been exposed, arrive at a conclusion, then occasionally state an altogether... - Source: Hacker News / 1 day ago

QB House and its many imitators would like a word. It's a genuine mystery to me why these "fast haircut" chains are ubiquitous in Asia but unknown in the West. https://medium.com/@justin.tan/qb-house-back-to-basics-business-model-innovation-in-the-mens-haircutting-industry-c23893095e13. - Source: Hacker News / 5 days ago
Not the first attempted Flash reimplementation[1,2,3]. The GNU one didnโt work all that well back in the day as far as I remember, but then Flash was a moving target at the time. A true emulator would be something like Ruffle or Lightspark. Ruffle I know doesn't work well with Walfas last time I checked. I don't know about Lightspark. Source: almost 4 years ago
Lightspark, a browser plugin written in C++. It's a work in progress, not every flash content will work. Modern mainstream browsers don't support running it within a page, so flash content needs to be run in a standalone lightspark app, or in some lesser known browsers. Source: almost 4 years ago
I'm trying to install lightspark on my computer, and it hinges on launching a shell script that mainly executes a CMake command. When I try ./build.sh (the name of the shell script), I get a bunch of lines of errors. The first one I think is major is CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-3.23/Modules/CMakeTestCCompiler.cmake:69 (message): The C compiler "/usr/bin/cc" is not able to compile a simple test... I'm having alot of fun with this post actually. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some alternative or workaround for whatever you guys need to run. For example, instead of the clunky Java, we have this. Instead of Flash, try this. Source: over 4 years ago
