Based on our record, Mastodon seems to be a lot more popular than searchcode. While we know about 883 links to Mastodon, we've tracked only 17 mentions of searchcode. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Music is tough. People like music which is a lot like what they're familiar with but just a little bit different. Musicians are always suing each other because it's hard to write a song which doesn't sound dangerously like an existing song, which is why Taylor Swift is generous with writing credits. It's a big problem for LLM generated music, regardless of the training data. Myself I have gone through phases... - Source: Hacker News / 2 days ago
Now you've misquoted me. Actual quote[1] is: "This appears to be an outright fabrication." To quote yourself[2], "The honest thing to do is acknowledge that you were mistaken and apologize for the false accusation." Are you going to do that for me now? I don't expect you to, because I don't think you are being dishonest. I think you are earnestly trying to untangle the facts from two parties for whom you have no... - Source: Hacker News / 5 days ago
One of the things I find so disappointing about Kelley's behavior here is that he falsely accused Jarred Sumner of lying about fuzzing Bun, and then when Sumner showed evidence[0] that they've been fuzzing Bun for months, Kelley just silently edited his post[1] to walk back the accusation and never apologized or admitted he was wrong. I commented on Mastodon[2] to point out to Kelley that it's dishonest to... - Source: Hacker News / 5 days ago
"I put every Star Trek series into a Collection on my Plex, pointed Coax at it and now I have a channel that's playing a random Star Trek episode at any given moment. It's fantastic." (https://mastodon.social/@Moltz/116896945313382677). - Source: Hacker News / 7 days ago
I will grant my friend Valerie lives off grid and does subsistence agriculture, see https://wildhunt.org/2026/02/pagan-community-notes-week-of-february-5-2026.html but she is a high priestess even if she omits "high". Now I did get a high when I went to Litha (summer solstice) at her place that lasted for days because the experience was ethereal and otherworldly. But she's a professional who does this full... - Source: Hacker News / 9 days ago
Been working on https://searchcode.com/ again which I bought back, albeit as code search tool for LLMs. It solves the โshould I use this libraryโ by allowing the LLM to inspect search and analyse it before integration. Can use it to compare multiple repositories before downloading. It comes with a large amount of token savings and can be really useful when wanting to learn about a codebase. Since it does it anyway... - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
I reimagined https://searchcode.com/ since I realised LLMs have issues when it comes to understanding code you want to integrate. Itโs useful for looking though any codebase, or multiple without having to clone it. I use it when I have candidate libraries to solve a problem, or I just want to find out how things work. Most recently I pointed it at fzf and was able to pull the insensitive SIMD matching it uses and... - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
Searchcode doesn't seem to work for me. All queries (even the ones recommended by the site) unfortunately return zero results. Maybe it got hugged? https://searchcode.com/?q=re.compile+lang%3Apython. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
Without saying what repos they prioritize, it's hard to take them seriously since some pretty simple searches were "uh-huh" e.g. https://searchcode.com/?q=kubelet&src=2&lan=55 versus https://codesearch.debian.net/search?q=kubelet&literal=1 or the gold standard (although regrettably no longer open source) https://sourcegraph.com/search?q=context:global+kubelet&patternType=keyword&sm=0. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
