MarginReality's answer

Three things, together: a one-time $9 price instead of a monthly subscription, a Profit Reality Score that is free and needs no account, and an architecture where your orders CSV is parsed entirely in your browser and never uploaded to a server. Most profit tools in this space are dashboards you pay for every month and log into. MarginReality charges once for the full report and processes your financial data on your own device.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

If you want the same profit question answered but would rather not pay a recurring monthly bill or hand your order data to another server. MarginReality targets the core job, charges $9 once, and runs entirely in your browser. Competitors like BeProfit and Triple Whale offer broader dashboards on recurring plans; MarginReality trades that breadth for a one-time price and client-side privacy.

Independent Shopify and DTC sellers who need to know their real margin but do not want a recurring analytics subscription. Typically founders or operators running their own numbers, often cost-conscious early-stage stores, and people who are careful about where their revenue data goes. They usually want a quick, honest answer about whether their best-selling products are actually profitable.

What's the story behind your product?

It started from a simple frustration: profit analytics for Shopify sellers had settled into a model where you pay every month for a dashboard you gradually stop opening. The math behind real margin, fees, COGS, and refunds is not actually a monthly problem for most small sellers; it is a question you want answered once, honestly, without a subscription. So MarginReality was built to do that one job for a single one-time price, with the data staying in the browser.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

MarginReality's answer

Next.js with React and TypeScript for the application, Tailwind CSS for styling, and papaparse for parsing the Shopify orders CSV. The CSV processing runs entirely client-side in the browser, which is the core architectural choice behind the privacy claim: there is no server-side data pipeline storing order data. Payment handling goes through Creem for the one-time checkout.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

MarginReality's answer

MarginReality is still early and, by design, has no account system, so there is no customer list to share. The product is built for individual sellers who drop a CSV and get their numbers without signing up, which means usage is intentionally anonymous. As the product grows we may share case studies, but for now there are no named customers to list.
