Yeah domain knowledge/network is definitely needed, I am working with a friend who has that, it's a must in this field because it's almost set in the stone age. If you want to show polygons it is a bit more difficult. With the above map functions you can create a Choropleth map by using predefined regions (like countries, states etc.). But for custom polygons it won't work. You can either use ArcGIS Online in combination with the ArcGIS Maps for Power BI viz or use the Mapbox Visual function (you need to install this one first by pressing "Get more visuals"). You can... Capture2Text is FOSS. It uses Tesseract as it's OCR engine, which is great as you can use different language data files to find the one that is the most accurate for your purposes. Source: almost 5 years ago
Capture2Text is the simplest solution and it works surprisingly well with the Cold Steel/Hajimari text boxes... Once it runs in the background press a previously assigned hotkey and select the area on the screen to be captured. I recommend deactivating its popup window, you just want the text to be copied into the clipboard. Source: about 5 years ago
