Using MONIT or ZABBIX plugins to set up email (text, etc) alerts for when power is switched to batter, or from battery to mains, or the device has recovered from a total power loss. And monitor and alert for other things like connection loss (WAN/LAN) and more. Source: over 4 years ago

I'm only running Monit on my OPNsense box, because it lets you configure some really specific conditions to watch/ trigger notifications for, and that was important for my firewall. It's great, but I wish there was a decent UI like M/Monit, but open source. Source: over 5 years ago
