Do you have an example of a Clojure web framework that doesn't include batteries? ie, does https://luminusweb.com/ (or it's successor Kit, https://kit-clj.github.io/) includes batteries? They provide integrated solutions with templating, database access, authentication, and other common web application components pre-configured. It's one of those weasel phrases that is poorly defined and has unclear boundaries. I... - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
If you want a solid structure to start with, Iโd suggest https://luminusweb.com/ as thatโs what I initially learned from. For a todo app I believe the reagent repo has an example of that without the server bits. I could give you some more direction depending on what youโre trying to accomplish. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
I havenโt really worked in closure for a while, but luminus was my go to web framework in the past. https://luminusweb.com/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
Https://luminusweb.com/ has been used over the years to generate sane starting point apps. It is well worth checking out. The https://luminusweb.com/docs/profiles.html page gives a pretty good hint at the different library options available for the various different functions of a framework. so even if you are building your own it is a decent reference. ShadowCLJS is more of a build tool, but is really well documented and easy to use. Reagent is basically react but a simpler API, and re-frame is a layer on top of that provides data subscriptions and event-handlers to manage app state. It's overkill for some... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
It's very possible to make a lateral move from engineering to technical design. It's going to be a little trickier to get a remote senior technical design position right out of the gate, usually that's reserved for someone who has been in that specific role before, but it might still be possible for a mobile or browser game company. I work remote in AAA, but that comes after 15 years in technical design. If you're... Source: over 2 years ago
If you don't have work experience but have a good portfolio, then apply to the studios directly. Websites like gamedevmap.com or glassdoor are your friend. That said, once you've had a game-dev job it gets much, much, much easier to find other game dev jobs, so working at a smaller company (even a mobile game company) for a year can help you finding the job you want further down the line.
