This is one of the strangest side effects of AI-assisted development becoming mainstream. Tools such as Lovable, v0, Bolt, Base44, Google AI Studio, Replit, and Claude can take a plain-language description and turn it into a working interface in minutes. But somewhere between typing your "build me a portfolio website" prompt and watching the interface come to life, a huge number of us end up with something that... - Source: dev.to / 7 days ago

A solo founder using Bolt or Lovable can go from idea to working prototype in a weekend. Cursor handles multi-file refactoring on a production codebase. V0 generates polished UI components from a description. The founder who previously needed six months and $80,000 in savings or seed funding can now ship a testable product in two weeks for under $8,000 in tool costs. - Source: dev.to / 4 months ago

Fossil is primarily a DVCS, like git, but aimed at a different set of users (e.g. Smaller projects) and includes decentralised tickets etc., but in practice it is easiest to have a centralised server. Its easy to run your own, but there is hosting available for Fossil: https://chiselapp.com/ Redicale seems much more decentralised. Rather than making it easy to run your own server it eliminates the server... - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
In case you were wondering, there is a "FossilHub": http://chiselapp.com/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
Fossil is super easy to self host, so that what I do (on a MeLE fanless mini PC). But there's https://chiselapp.com/ if you want a hosted solution. For CI I self host an instance of https://concourse-ci.org/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 4 years ago
