Not sure if you could flash it to ESPHome but https://look-in.club/en/devices/remote has been a solid device for ir send and receive for me. It connects over MQTT. Overbuilt and overpriced for your tiny use case so it’s a time vs money question. Source: about 1 year ago
LOOK.in Remote 2: That's interesting - I first read about it on this Post and the official site is here linked. That product is veeerry weird! Because even though you can buy it, I can't find any reviews about it on the web, which makes buying the Remote 2 very risky, not? But the native HomeKit support (with AC products) and that unique feature which always scans the IR-signals sent from "old" remotes, in order... Source: over 2 years ago
