Logisim Evolution features and specs

  • Educational Tool
Logisim Evolution is widely used as an educational tool in classrooms and universities for teaching digital logic and circuit design, making it approachable for beginners and effective for learning.
  • Open Source
Being an open-source project, it allows users to freely access the source code, contribute improvements, and customize it to fit their unique needs.
  • Cross-Platform
Logisim Evolution is built on Java, enabling it to run on multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) without needing extensive modifications.
  • User-Friendly Interface
It provides an intuitive graphical user interface, making it easier to design and simulate digital circuits even for users with minimal experience.

Possible disadvantages of Logisim Evolution

  • Limited Complexity
While excellent for educational purposes, Logisim Evolution may struggle to efficiently handle more complex, real-world circuits compared to professional-grade design tools.
  • Performance Constraints
As Java-based software, it may face performance issues, especially with larger circuits, which might not be as optimized as native applications.
  • Development Activity
The pace of the development and updates may not be as fast as commercial alternatives, potentially lagging behind in terms of new features or bug fixes.
  • Feature Set
Logisim Evolution might lack certain advanced features found in professional electronic design automation (EDA) tools, such as advanced simulation capabilities or extensive library components.

GitHub Follow Bot features and specs

  • Increased Visibility
By following multiple users, there is a chance that some users will check out your GitHub profile, thereby increasing your visibility in the GitHub community.
  • Discover New Projects
Following a variety of GitHub users can help you discover new and interesting projects that you might not have come across otherwise.
  • Network Expansion
Helps build a larger network of developers and contributors, potentially opening up collaboration opportunities.
  • Automation Convenience
The bot automates the process of following users, which saves time compared to manually following people on GitHub.

Possible disadvantages of GitHub Follow Bot

  • Violation of GitHub's Terms of Service
Automated bots may violate GitHubโ€™s policies, leading to possible suspension or banning of your account.
  • Low Engagement Quality
Following a large number of users might not lead to meaningful interactions or engagement, reducing the quality of your network.
  • Potential for Spam
Mass following can be perceived as spammy behavior by others in the GitHub community, potentially damaging your reputation.
  • Security Risks
Using third-party scripts or bots can pose a security risk, especially if the source code has not been thoroughly vetted.

Analysis of GitHub Follow Bot

Overall verdict

  • GitHub Follow Bot services that automate following users to gain followers are generally not recommended, as they violate GitHub's Terms of Service and can lead to account suspension while providing little genuine value.

Why this product is good

  • Automated following can violate GitHub's Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policies, risking account restriction or permanent ban
  • Followers gained through bots are typically low-quality and not genuinely interested in your work or projects
  • Real professional reputation on GitHub comes from meaningful contributions, quality repositories, and authentic community engagement
  • Bots can compromise your account security if they require access tokens or credentials
  • Inflated follower counts can damage your credibility with recruiters and collaborators who value authentic activity

Recommended for

  • No legitimate use case is genuinely recommended, as authentic engagement is far more valuable
  • Those seeking to grow their GitHub presence should instead focus on open-source contributions, documentation, and networking
  • Developers wanting visibility are better served by writing quality code and engaging honestly with the community

  • Boolr โ€“ A Digital Logic Simulator
Logisim is a nice FOSS software in this space as well. I've designed a CPU in it during COVID, which then became a never-finished breadboard project that stilll looks at me accusingly from some corner of my living room. Oh well. In addition to boolean logic, Logisim also includes more advanced components such as static RAM, as well as interesting things to drive with it, such as displays. It was developed for use... - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
  • Creating a package that requires Java 16
I am trying to define an xbps-src template for logisim-evolution, a Java app that requires Java 16. I am using depends="virtual?java-runtime" and, as expected by reading etc/defaults.virtual, OpenJDK 8 is used. Creating a etc/virtual file is ignored in .gitignore, so I guess it is made to be used with local packages. Using depends="virtual?java-runtime-17.0.5+7_1" works, as OpenJDK 17 provides that exact version... Source: over 3 years ago
  • A circuit simulator that doesn't look like it was made in 2003
Logism evolution works great and is quite modern. https://github.com/logisim-evolution/logisim-evolution. - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
  • Hi there, I got an assigment that consists of moving a stepper motor (4 phases) using only a 74LS76N and a 74LS86N but when I tried to use the schematic, it didn't work, any help would be extremely helpful (more info in comments)
According to Logisim it creates the correct sequence for full stepping on a bipolar configuration. Falstad's Circuit simulator is another one you might try. Source: over 3 years ago
