For people looking for alternatives, I would also recommend llama-file, itโs a one file executable for any OS that includes your chosen model: https://github.com/mozilla-ai/llamafile?tab=readme-ov-file Itโs truly open source, backed by Mozilla, openly uses llama.cpp and was created by wizard Justine Tunney of CosmopolitanC fame. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
Handy is an awesome project, highly recommended - many of our engineers and PMs use it! CJ, Handy's creator, recently joined us as a Builder in Residence at Mozilla.ai. So for those interested in deploying a more raw/lightweight approach to local speech-to-text (or other multimodal) models, feel free to check out llamafile - which includes whisperfile, a single-file whisper.cpp + cosmopolitan framework-based... - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
Personally I'd start with llamafile [0] then move to compiling your own llama.cpp. It's not as bad as you might think to compile llama.cpp for your target architecture and spin up an OpenAI compatible API endpoint. Expertise. The SaaS provider is declaring: "I am good at XYZ; I can deliver it better than any of my competitors, and I constantly work to improve how I deliver it." Who do you think can better run GitLab, your already overworked Operations team, or GitLab itself? - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
Integration Capabilities: How easily does it plug into your daily workflow? Look for deep integrations with your IDE, source control (like GitHub or GitLab), and especially your CI/CD pipeline. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
Connect your GitLab account for seamless version control. - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
Web Check CI stands out because it is the first CI/CD module of its kind available for GitLab! It's built on Google's Baseline initiative, the new standard for web platform compatibility. Instead of guessing which features are safe to use, developers get authoritative answers based on real browser support data. - Source: dev.to / 9 months ago
