Sheil started from a simple frustration with how fragmented remote infrastructure workflows can be.

Managing remote machines often means switching between an SSH client, terminal, SFTP tool, port forwarding configuration, and separate AI assistants when you need help constructing a command.

At the same time, AI is becoming increasingly useful for infrastructure work, but sending sensitive server information and operational context to a cloud AI service isn't always desirable.

Sheil was created to bring these workflows together in one cross-platform application while keeping security and privacy as core principles.

The long-term vision is to make remote and device management feel less like manually operating a collection of disconnected tools and more like an intelligent, unified workspace.
